/ What's included in a service
A boiler service is an annual safety and efficiency check carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. It isn't a quick look — we strip and inspect the key components, measure what the boiler is actually doing with a flue gas analyser, and put right anything that's drifting before it turns into a breakdown.
Most manufacturers require an annual service to keep the warranty valid, and landlords need the boiler checked as part of the gas safety certificate. For everyone else it's simply the cheapest year you'll spend on your heating: a boiler that's clean, correctly set and running at the right pressure uses less gas and lasts longer.
We service combi, system and regular (heat-only) boilers from all the major manufacturers. If we find a fault during the service we'll tell you straight, price the repair in writing and only go ahead once you've said yes.

/ Boiler service cost in Winchester
A boiler service is a fixed price, agreed when you book — it doesn't change on the day. The price depends on the boiler type (a combi is quicker than a system boiler with a cylinder) and whether you combine it with a landlord gas safety certificate, which is cheaper on the same visit than booked separately. Any repair we find is quoted separately in writing, and only done if you say yes.
/ Covering SO21, SO22 and SO23 — the Cathedral, the High Street, Weeke, Badger Farm and Kings Worthy
Winchester's centre is full of period and listed buildings where flue positions, pipe routes and boiler locations need thought and sometimes consent — we're used to working with those constraints. Out at Weeke, Stanmore and Badger Farm the estates are more conventional, and Barton Farm brings a lot of new-build boilers into their first service cycle.
We cover the whole of Winchester (SO21, SO22 and SO23) — from the Cathedral, the High Street, Weeke, Badger Farm and Kings Worthy — and the surrounding areas including Kings Worthy, Alresford, Twyford, Otterbourne, Colden Common, Sutton Scotney, Bishops Waltham and Micheldever. Typical housing here is listed and period properties in the centre, post-war estates at Weeke and Stanmore, and new housing at Barton Farm, and our engineers know the boiler types, flue positions and system layouts that go with it.
We're based in Woking, Surrey, roughly 45 minutes from Winchester in typical traffic — a normal working day for us, not a special trip.
Same-day appointments are available for most of Winchester, and every job — a service, a repair or a full installation — comes with a fixed price agreed before we start and a written record when we're done.

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, call — it's quicker than a form.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year. Annual servicing is a condition of most manufacturer warranties and is the interval the Gas Safe Register recommends. Summer or early autumn is the ideal time — before the heating season, when appointments are easier to get.
How long does a boiler service take?
Usually 45 minutes to an hour for a combi, a little longer for a system or regular boiler with a cylinder. We'll tell you if anything we find needs more time.
What's the difference between a service and a gas safety check?
A gas safety check (CP12) confirms appliances are safe to use; a service also cleans, adjusts and tests the boiler's components for efficiency and reliability. Landlords usually book both on the same visit.
Will a service fix a fault?
Minor adjustments are included. Anything that needs a part or extra labour is quoted in writing on the day and only done with your go-ahead.
Do you service boilers under warranty?
Yes. We're Gas Safe registered and complete the manufacturer's service record, which is what most warranties require.
Ready when you are.
